NicheADay/TemplateADay Review

March 12th, 2007 · 6 Comments

Yea, OK. I’m pretty quick to criticize a lot in this business. Maybe more than I should. But I am a pessimist. Particularly when it comes to this business and the number of hands that want access to my wallet. I’m jaded enough to not really believe any IMer, until they give me proof otherwise. Losing $5,000 to a supposed guru will do that to a fella.

But I want to give a shout out to a couple of guys who I think are actually trying to do some good. Scott Standke and Jim Morris. Everyday via email I receive NicheAday which reveals a niche topic, estimated Overture monthly traffic and the high PPC bid. I’ve been signed up to receive this for probably close to a year now. Now they are adding a list of keywords to go with the niche topic. Up to 1,000 keywords. Granted, all you get is the count and the keyword, but it’s at least a place to start. I like NicheADay because it gives me ideas for free.

Now they are doing TemplateADay. Most everyday they send me an email to download a new set of graphics to go with the “master template”. One day it may be mortgages, the next, pet supplies. For free. The quality is not bad. Heck I even use some of the graphics on blogs.

Now, I have no idea where all this free stuff is leading. Maybe it continues. But like nichebot I kinda doubt it. At some point there will probably be a premium niche/template service to subscribe to. The old NicheADay/TemplateADay will continue, but like nichebot Classic versus NicheBot Version 2, you’ll want to subscribe to NAD/TAD Version 2 or something. Whatever. Until that happens I’m going to continue using their free service. I think it’s a winner.

And by the way. I signed up for the lite NicheBot Version 2 membership. For $9 a month I get access to their keyword tools.  This gives me 5 credits to use for the month, which is basically 5 intensive keyword searches. I don’t need more than that with what I’m doing and if I don’t use all 5 credits, the remainder rolls over to the next month. I love the service, particularly the 1-Click LSI Keyword tool. The Keyword Discovery 9 in 1 tool is a monster. The training videos are quite good too.

So there you are. A positive review of two guys who are definitely at the top of the guru heap. I’m cool with giving credit where credit is due.

Okay, here’s the problem I am seeing:

Niche a Day, Blog a Day, Rich Jerk (New Edition), etc. It won’t work unless you have a plan.

    Period.

Buying and investing in all of this stuff is totally useless… unless you have a plan.

Did I mention that you need a plan?

Even all of this PLR stuff isn’t worth the effort unless you have a plan of ACTION and a map of how you’re going to use all of this stuff.

    (Marc, do you agree?)

I told you a few months ago that I invested in the AdWords BlackBook DVD’s (on #8 of 13 and I’ve learned a LOT. If anyone has questions, feel free to email me at ) and I am starting to see “movement” in this business.

I am getting about $30-50 (net) a day in ClickBank revenue — if that doesn’t seem like a lot of money, $30 a day is bout 11 thousand a year. In a year, I should be “even” with the expenses of all of those ebooks and courses and memberships and seminars….

I love ya, Splork. I really do. I would love to see you succeed in this.

    However…

… you are going to need a real plan. You’re all over the place.

My plan is simple: Have an income from some ClickBank products (in my particular niche) and create a huge list while doing it.

    Then repeat.

Today, I received more email from Chris at Affiliate Project X (or is that Dominating ClickBank?). Quite frankly, I think Chris and Andrew Fox are the same person. :-)

Anyway, they are now affiliates of The Rich Jerk’s new product, Duvet Dollars (now, what a cutsie name for a product)…

So, wouldn’t it be better to follow ONE plan, ONE teacher?

    Yes. It’s working for me.

Splork… on second thought… can you please remove my email address from my last post so the bots don’t spam me?

    Thanks! :-)

    Hey Splork,
Sorry to comment off topic, but I couldn’t find anything by searching.

I was wondering if you have looked much into the $7 reports craze? Any validity here, or just another way for the gurus to vacuum out our wallets in smaller bits?

    Thanks,
    Scott

Hey Scott. I don’t know much about those $7 reports. You may get something out of them but my guess it’s mainly used to generate a fat email list and upsell to something else. I’m steering clear.

    Splork,
You have the right idea about the $7 reports that are popping up.

Originally, I didn’t purchase the $7 secrets ebook until Allan Says mentioned it and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

The book is basic, but provides some good inspiration for other marketers.

For anyone who’s curious, here’s the rundown of the $7 method:

    Find a niche
Create an info-product. Keep it short (which is an idea I love).
Sell it for $7 or a relatively small price-point.
Recruit affililiates by giving them 100% commissions.
Make back-end profits from affiliate links in the info product, upsells, and future marketing from the list you build.
    Rinse and repeat.

What I enjoyed best about it was the free scripts provided to make it all work and someone pushing the idea to provide affordable products instead of overpriced ones.

What I don’t care much for is all the $7 ebooks/products that are popping up - most of which seems to be crapola wrapped in a pretty sales letter.

Out of the 5 $7 products I’ve purchased so far, only 2 were worth it. And you know it’s pretty sad when a product can’t even live up to a $7 price tag. *sigh*

If you don’t already have it, I’d recommend it simply to get the scripts that it comes with and, possibly, to get your product listed in the website he set up specifically for customers called $7 offers.

Otherwise, if you have coding experience and don’t mind shelling out the time, you could recreate the scripts yourself and follow the above outline.

A niche is very important or you will spread yourself. The Internet can get very tedious and you can spend all day going from place to place without being productive. Choosing a niche and sticking to it is the key. But do your research first. The good thing is that nicheaday.com helps you by providing the research fro you and you just have to get the content.
