Video and Adsense

November 14th, 2006 · 5 Comments

Ran across this little jewel and thought I’d share. Improving your Adsense CTR with video. Pretty cool. I’m sure it won’t be long before some Internet Marketer tries to sell this technique with a $47 ebook so I figured I’d go ahead and give you guy’s the heads up. Or maybe you can wait until the next pack of Instant Adsense Templates comes out.

Frankly I have no idea if it would work very well. Everybody is digging YouTube and it seems to me people would be watching the video and ignoring the ads. Like TV. But I think it is worth testing for all you Adsense scrapers.

It’s quite a cool technique. But always check out the videos first for any infringement on copyrights.

Another problem is someone’s watching the video, then clicks the adsense ad… a new page loads (the advertiser’s webpage), and so the video is no longer there.

…But then again, that may be a good thing, because then the person will have to ‘back up’ in their browser to see the rest of the video, which is hosted on your site. So that ensures your traffic will return after clicking on an ad.

…But then again, if they back up TOO quickly from the advertisres page, it may adversely affect your adsense account and you’ll get smart priced. :)

Either way - a new technique that may be worth looking into, and I’ll be sure to give it a shot.

    Thanks,

Where can I go to find the Wordpress plugin for Video and Adsense?

Hey Bob. Not sure that there is a plugin for this. You could try looking at the Plugin Directory:
