The Kahuna Upsell Cometh

April 14th, 2008 · 9 Comments

Be ready. By now all you folks who signed up for the free Comment Kahuna giveaway is now about to be pummeled with a new product that promises even better, faster and easier results. Much like Orwell was free for a couple of months then you got to upgrade to Orwell Pro. I did. I use it. Anyway here is the pre-buy pitch for mysteryhuna. You should be able to purchase one of 1,000, 729, 512, 216, 93 copies for $297 $197 next (probably) Tues (most hyped products sell better on Tues don’t you know?).

“You might have noticed that Peter has been using
Comment Kahuna to post comments to blogs for the
past 30+ days. For some people, 30 days is an
eternity.

Would you be interested in getting similar results
like Peter did, but in 3 days or less? And what if, it
took…

>>> 98% LESS effort than using Comment Kahuna!

In fact, what I’m talking about here has nothing to
do with Comment Kahuna. It’s not a paid upgrade or
anything like that. However, it is another product in
the “Kahuna” family.

I don’t mean to keep you hanging… but I can’t get
into all the details here in this short email.

Look for another email from me tomorrow with some
more information about this SUPER charged
“Kahuna” traffic generator and how it will help you
achieve instant results. “

He didn’t “mean to keep you hanging”. I can feel the sincerity. Can’t you? It’s too bad he “can’t get into all the details in this short email.” It’s a shame that emails are regulated for length isn’t it? I mean, we all know how little space we can use in emails. I guess they’ll have to let the hype bubble a bit before they seep out a little more. We’ll just have to wait until tomorrow to find out about the “SUPER charged” traffic kahunarator. Maybe there will be a video to watch! yay! I can hardly wait!

hahaha..great post..:) You know I tried out the freebie software and I have to admit it was pretty damn good & I’ll probably continue using it. Will I pay for the “Upgraded Version”. Mostly likely not…I’m interested in seeing what he’s going to upsell me on..:)

I have a dislike for these tools since I find myself constantly editing, deleting or Akismeting inane comments with questionable links left by users of this software and others like it. I suppose someone could use it without doing the idiotic “Great Post!” type comments but most people are too lazy.

    Great post Frank!
    …wait, that doesn’t seem right..

I see that Brad Callen has just sent through an email saying that if you buy traffic kahuna he will give you one of his own software for free. It might be worth is depending on the cost as one of the tools I want to get in the future is the web submitter gold.

I dunno. $147 seems pretty steep to me. But then it’s hard to quantify the value if you are able to spew your links across their farm. It was funny to see them putting this together when I was a member of PF and now they take all of those people’s work and make $147 off it. Clever. Good for all. But mostly benefits the pimps who rake in $147 per month for each of the 800 people who join. Personally I’m passing.

I swear to God, after years of this crap, I think I have FINALLY gained the ability to completely ignore it.

I now get emails from all these people, and read their sales pitches, and I feel…

    Absolutely nothing.

I say to myself, “Yeah, yeah, blabbity blah blah.. delete.” I mean, I used to be so addicted to this shit.

Even good ones like Charles Heflin and Allan Gardyne, who I used to like. Just seems like it’s all to get me to buy something, and even if it’s free, it’s still just a setup.

Dr Andy Williams is really the only newsletter I look forward to and get something out of.

The only one. Out of hundreds.

I love the fact that in pre-launches they never say the price. Even on the sales page you have to click the buy link to find out the price!

$147 a month is steep and there’s so many other ways to get links without this. I’m trying to think of the long term just like vic talks about. I know I use BLS but I wouldn’t want to rely on any other services like this.

  • Splork // Apr 17, 2008 at 6:22 am

Yea, I’ve totally drank the Vic/Griz Kool-aid. Throw in some good advice from Frank and a little by Court and I’m pretty much done. The things they say to do are (a) reasonable (b) attainable and (c) not very costly.
You don’t have to worry with those guys that there will be a new product that you need to by this month or the next.

Hammiesink, I’ve pretty much eliminated them all. The only reason I keep getting most is for the entertainment value. I agree that Dr. Andy is about the only one worth reading, but even his I tend to simply gloss over and delete. I’m just sick of the upsells and deals. Email lists may be where the money is. “The money is in the list”. I’m just not playing, to the detriment of my bank account no less.
