Want to know why I’m not successful? It’s because I don’t act. Sure I’ve made some stupid decisions and I’ve wasted some serious bank in my day. But when you get right down to the crux of the matter, I just don’t keep on, keeping on.
Instead of just building a site, I’ll click through 17 separate newsletters and follow each and every link to see if they have the magic potion for my online success. Oh yes. They do. So I’ll bounce in and get seduced by the latest $47/$57/$97/$147 item (and thank god they only advertise in 7’s because otherwise there is no way I would be a buyer. They SO know me.).
Still no site has been built.
After purchasing every offer in each newsletter I shuffle off and spend time in 12 different forums hoping that these wisened online warriors have more secrets that they feel like divulging. Not realizing that if the info was really juicy they would produce a $47 or $97 ebook for my purchasing pleasure. Nothing is free. But I had to check anyway.
Still haven’t built a site yet.
After exhausting all my options in the forums, I decide it is time to check Adsense stats. Wow that sucks hard. What about CJ? Not so good. Linkshare? Crap. Shareasale. Good grief.
No site in sight.
Time to recheck my email. Oh good. A third email today from my favorite guberu. Must be important. Heck while I’m here I may as well check to make sure nothing got put in bulk email by mistake (it feels like I am browsing in the bargain bin, ha!).
Gosh look at the time. 24 is about to come on.
Guess building a site can wait until tommorrow.
This is just stupid folks. And I don’t write this just for entertainment purposes. It’s real and it happens. I do it ALL the time and I know many of you are guilty of it too.
I’d love to have some sweet internet properties that people cared about. But the deal is you have to build, build, build to make money in this game. Get some traffic to your site from carefully selected keywords and hope they leave via Adsense or affiliate links.
I’d prefer not to throw junk up with crap articles but it looks like that is what I’ll have to do. I’ll make changes the best I can and create some good articles to splash out to the article directories.
But it’s time to get off my high horse and build. I’ve got the tools and the resources. Now it’s just a matter of getting it done, no matter how distasteful it is.

Splork,
After combing through your posts, it’s like we’ve lived parallel lives. Dumping $$$ into programs, ebooks, etc with marginal results, but not guru-like-promises.
Yesterdy, I promised my self the stop buying anyhing and to use everything I’ve learned.
Here’s to building,
Ray

Hey Ray. Thanks for reading.
I think we are a couple of many who have bought way too much stuff and haven’t used what we did buy. It amazes me how well the marketers are able to reach out to people, me included, who really want to make some extra money.
You have the right idea. Build a site.

Uhhh, are you stalking me? Seriously, you need to stop watching everything I do - it’s scaring me.

Hey Terri. I know my people. I know exactly how frustrating this business is. I read all the sales pages. I read all the testimonials of success. I’m like everyone else who succums to the hype and wants desperately to believe the promises. This gig is just not easy.
If I figure it out, you guys will be the first to know.
