I Never Learn

April 23rd, 2006 · No Comments

A PLR membership site came and found me. It was looking for me. I wasn’t looking for it.

I signed up over the weekend for the big 7 in 1 deal that every guberu and their brother has been pimping over the last month. I can’t say that after having had time to think about it overnight I’m very thrilled with the decision.

And this is my main malfunction.

I seem to always get sucked into these memberships. It’s like an addiction or something. I didn’t really need what they were offering despite it being a good deal on paper. So for $50 I get 1,500 articles and a bunch of other stuff that 1,000 other people get to share. Now why did I think that would be a good idea?

So I signed up and will probably drop it next month. Will I ask for a refund? Not if I use all the material.

There was so much stuff in this offering that I just don’t see how the average IM’er can utilize it all. Certainly if you have other responsibilities like family, work and other hobbies you won’t be able to use it all. If you are full time in this gig then maybe so.

And it’s not like that is a bad thing. You really get your money’s worth. But I fear that many people, myself included, will just be overwhelmed and not know what to with it all. Information overload can lead to inaction.

I think that if you are a member for a couple of months you should have enough material to build a ton of sites over the next year. Yes, I think it’s that extensive.

But here is the problem. Do you really want to build a bunch of sites on these topics? I’m not sure I care to. Unless you are interested in spamming the web with whatever articles you have access to, you are better off having articles written or write them yourself.

You have to decide if you want tons of article sites and just blast them across the net to chase Adsense or do you want to build sites you are interested in for other revenue sources. These article sites are great for the former. Maybe not so good for the latter unless you are a member of a site for a specific topic. That’s what I do with my health sites. I am a member of a health specific membership site that provides only health targeted articles. And it’s cheap.

But all in all I’d just assume to write my own stuff.
