This is Why I Love Hubpages

April 9th, 2008 · 12 Comments

Update Jun 2008: Hubpages is crap. Indexing is not working like it did. This hub has dropped off the front page and beyond for the keyword. I do not love Hubpages anymore and have pretty much stopped building them.

I built a hubpage on one of my favorite mountain biking trails. As you can see by the published time on the photo below, that was 7 hour ago. No I didn’t republish a 9 month old hubpage. I just built it this afternoon. Note the low score…

Hubpage

I just checked the link in Google. It’s indexed. Note the time. 6 hours ago. It indexed the damn thing in one hour it appears to me. As a matter of fact I published it, then an hour later came back and made changes to the text that are not reflected in what’s indexed.

Hubpages

For the search term “Bear Creek Trail in Georgia”, I’m ranked #9 in Google. For “Bear Creek Trail”, I’m on the third page. Two search terms that are hardly ever searched for, but proves the value, in my mind, of Hubpages.

    Great post Splork.

We’re neighbors… Bear Creek Loop is my absolute favorite mountain biking trail as well.

I live in Chattanooga, where are you?

Trashville…I mean Nashville. I used to live down in Cartersville, you may have seen it down I-75 as you roll toward Atlanta.

Have you ridden some of the other gems like Bull Mountain, Carters Lake, Amicola, etc.?
There is some good riding down there and I miss the hell out of it.

We bought the first edition of Parham’s Off The Beaten Track back in the mid 90’s or so and went to every single trail that was listed as intermediate and harder.

Cool, I like Nashville ok myself but I haven’t ever lived there.

I have ridden Carters Lake, Raccoon Mtn Trails, and most of the trails in the immediate Chattanooga area.

Nice to know we’re neighbors. Go Titans & Vols! :)

    http://hubpages.com/hub/Drinking-Lots-Of-Water-Can-Be-Harmful

more than 6 hours ago but i have not seen it indexed yet…worse still

    http://hubpages.com/hub/Choosing-a-Low-Interest-Credit-Card-Over-High-Rewards-Credit-Cards

has not been indexed even after 1 week…

    any advice? Splork Splork..

No advice here. Your hubs look great to me. Not all of mine are indexed. Some are going to have to be indexed the hard way I guess. I still can’t figure out what makes Google decide to index one and another not. That’s why I typically build one a day on one of my accounts. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t. Damn sure wish I could give you better advice than that.

On the splork account only 1 out of 3 are indexed since I started building this week on that account. Dunno why the other two aren’t.

thanks for the quick reply. Guess i must work on my backlinks then…my other hubpage on asia’h epperson started on page 12 lol..it started to creep up thru the pages and was deciding between page 6 and 7 for a couple of days..it is now on page 5 after working on the backlinks. I guess “asia’h epperson” has become a competitive keyword recently :)

I’ve been doing a little experimenting. When I fist get indexed my main keyword appears on page 3 or 4. I then get 6 backlinks via the backlinksolution netweork that Griz uses. After a few days, WHAM, I’m on page 1.

Hubpages combined with a handful of anchored links is a very powerful combination. Even more powerful than doing the same techniques with your own website (depending on the authority of your own site obviously).

    Thanks for sharing April.
I had a couple of stubborn hubs that wasn’t getting indexed and stuck them in BMD. I just listed them straight up for the scuttle sites and hid them like Vic suggests for the real sites. They got indexed over the weekend. It sucks having to go through all these ridiculous methods to get picked up by the SERPs.

Made money from Adsense with my hubpage for the first time today. $1.11
Well at least for one of the few that I am tracking. That’s cool because a) the tracking is working and b) it makes money.

  • Dinheiro // Apr 14, 2008 at 11:18 pm

Splork, that’s great news. I made also today some hubpages money, it was $0.08 :) (what a difference!).

I would like to ask you something more, if you can give some insights. When you make a new money site, how much days do you use to build links before you go to build another new money site?
