I downloaded a report by Michelle MacPhearson called Social Media Daily. I was interested in it 1) because it was free and 2) I have an interest in learning the ins and out of using Social Networking sites.
This is a pretty good read. It’s 26 pages consisting of a checklist that you can use as a guide to adding your website URL to numerous social sites. There are so many sites that I had no idea existed.
Anyway, this guide is a blueprint you can use to socialize your site. To get through each item she has listed would take days. For one site it must take hours to get through them all. Honestly, I don’t know where to find the time to build, write articles and promote. But if you did, oh yes, if you did go through and socialize your site as she suggested, I bet you would have a traffic monster on your hands. Get the report and see what I mean.
The interesting thing is that all these so called Web 2.0 sites are kinda cool. They are fun to visit. At least to me. Now, I’m sure after creating accounts and submitting my site 25 times it might get old, but at least for now it’s not so bad. It will be fun to discover these sites for the first time I think.
So what’s in it for Michelle? Well, she lists the tools she uses to submit to all these sites. Mostly likely all are affiliate links. I really have no problem with this at all. It’s not like I have to spend any money. If I decide to buy one of the tools I’ll support her efforts. It’s not like it will cost me any more money. She asks for your email address but a real one is not required to get the report. She says there will be updates so you may want to provide an email address you check. But don’t be surprised if you get pimped upsells and side deals and all other manner of crap.
Bottom line: I think if you want to promote your site to social media then this is a great blueprint to guide you. I’ve already started using it.

Ahh jeez,
I really hate reading anything by her, and always refused to use her tools. I believe she is kind of like me. Yet, I don’t hide the fact that I rape on Social Networking Sites.
She on the other hand, completely comes off as the goodie goodie type yet her Badder Adder was a HUGE spam tool in the destruction of myspace. Whether she intended it to be or not. Which is also funny, because she had a disclaimer that said “Not for spamming purposes”
That is kind of like saying. Hey, this here tool here can spam the crap out of a lot of people and make you a buttload of money. But, you should not do that. You should limit the amount of money you make with that? LOL….c’mon…
But I have your recommendation…so going to download it buddy.

Yea man. I know. I refused to buy BA too. But she has put together a pretty good guide. I think she’s trying to retool herself to be the queen of social media. Whatever. Knowing how much you’ve already done with social networking sites, you may not find much new here. I found, and used a couple sites already, like 30daytags.com Pretty effing cool.
If you aren’t down with this freebie, try to find the one written by Jack Humphrey called Authority Black Book. I thought it was pretty good. Although knowing you, you’ve already spun through it.

Yuh,
I know I just bit myself in the butt, but the guide wasn’t that bad man. Great recommendation dude!
If you haven’t noticed bro, I really slowed down on my “aggressive” social network tactics. LOL…Fox Media had a real go with me for awhile, and I kinda “saw the light”…but yea man…30daytags looks rockin. I actually got out my notepad and got some notes down to visit some of the sites.
Good lookin out Splork,
Best,
Ruck

I haven’t read this yet but I have received about 3000 hits from stumbleupon in the last few days. My secret?
1. Become an active user, stumble all the sites and pages you like. Do reviews.
2. Add friends.
3. Make sure you write content people like and will give a thumbs up.

Stumbleupon and Technorati probably account for 99% of all my traffic outside of the big three search engines. And in many cases, some blogs receive more traffic from Technorati than from Google. And that includes Blogger blogs.

I’ve flicked through the ebook and don’t really understand the point in submitting to that many sites. There’s the risk of spreading yourself too thin.
Oh, over the weekend I got an article on the front page of digg. Unfortunately it was an article I submitted on the behalf of someone else but oh well, it’s a step in the right direction! Plus it helps with my digg profile in general plus lots of people suddenly want to be my friend.

I think if you were running one site, it would be amazing to have yourself promoted to all those resources. No doubt you couldn’t do it with 12 PLR article sites a month, but for that one or two sites a month that you care about, yea, I can see a whole lot of benefit to that kind of promotion.

I’m going to give her method a go in a week or two, when I figure out all the things she outlined. It seems to me that the way to approach it is to work on a few at a time, drop the ones that don’t work , then pick up a few more from the list. This may delay finding a really good lead, but it’ll at least get to it eventually.
