SHOCKING: Blogger Joining the 21st Century With Fresh Design Controls

by Splork on March 12, 2010

Blogger is one ugly blog platform. The programmers have decided to drag the preeminent social 2.0 dogshit pile into the 21st century. They are changing how pretty the blogs can look. It won’t help you one bit get indexed in Google nor will it help you get ranked, but at least it will look sexy.

Go to the site draft.blogger.com, log in to Blogger and you will see a new tab called Template Designer. Click it and you will find new design templates. It will also allow you to easily change the font, font size, backgrounds and all the normal shit that every single other blog platform and website designer has allowed you to do since  Algore invented the interwebs.

Blogger will continue to be useless for most of your niche money collection efforts. The time you waste building a Blogger blog to link back to your money site will not be mitigated, but at least that fish sweater satellite site will look really sharp.

About time eh… though it’s to little to damn late if you ask me, this crap they should have done two or three years ago…

I just made the switch from blogger to WP, forced into it really, I had mine on FTP, which as ya know they are dumping, shit on us really… but I was also getting fed up of waiting for them to make blogger better.

Still for the complete noob, it’s a good move.
Shame they only have 15 base templates though, still means millions of blogs look the same!

Thanks for the tip. I updated my older bloggers in a snap. They look better, but I’m sure you’re right about niche money. That’s why I bought XSP.

Dude what is with you and blogger?

All my blogger sites get indexed and perform in exactly the same way as a .com, I really don’t have any probs at all. If you put the same effort in to them as a domain you own then they work well, for me at least.

I wonder if this is because of the Amazon integration?

Man, Googles’ blogger has always worked well for me. As a money site and a link farm. I can get indexed in 24 to 72 hours and after a little google dancing my rankings stay. So I am very happy about the upgrade.

Rob, they should have upgraded the service a long time ago. Not sure why they have little respect/use for it.

Blogerrr. I wouldn’t say I’m right about anything. Or wrong about anything. I simply do my thing and blog it from time to time. I hope XSP works for you. There are a lot of people that like it and lots more that would prefer to build a blog.

Dave, glad it works for you. I use Blogger. I also make money from it. But it also takes me more effort to get them indexed and ranked. Just my recent experience. But they are free. Easy to use. So I use them and hope for the best.

Jason. Cool. Sometimes I have the same experience. Sometimes I don’t. But like I mentioned I definitely use them.
