Trimming Expenses

July 11th, 2007 · 3 Comments

I quit a membership yesterday. Portalfeeder. There is not a thing wrong with PF. The support is amazing. The ownership is top-shelf. It just wasn’t for me. I don’t care to build those portals. I don’t want to mess about with tokens. It’s not hard. It’s very intuitive. Lots of tutorials, etc. I’d just prefer to build a blog.

They have some pretty good initiatives going on with Blog Domination, Blog Feeder and Link Manager, among other things. I just couldn’t get with their program. I never was able to get Link Manager to work on one of my blogs. Probably my bad but I got tired of messing about with it and didn’t try to use it on any other. I get the same thing from Blog Feeder with PLRPro’s Blog Network for far less money. The training and forum is fine but it’s no better than PLRPro or Affilorama. They have a ton of useful programs like Directory Submitter, Domain Check Tool, Datafeeder, etc. The problem is I already have purchased something as useful (Wordpress Data Feed Import) or got it for being a member elsewhere (Directory Submitter from PLRPro via Callen) in most cases.

I will give them credit for Blog Domination. That could be a powerhouse. I chose not to participate when I realized I didn’t want to be a part of the collective anymore.

I’m not knocking it. It’s just not for me. I need the money I was spending. And what I was getting out of it did not justify my expense. I’m sure there are lots of PF fans who are doing very well within the system. Good for them. I’m just not one of them. I’m going to concentrate and focus my efforts elsewhere. I am just at my limit with building these PLR article sites. Blogs, portals, it doesn’t matter. I’m tired of building them.

Splork, those days of awe are over. By that I mean the degree of treatment the vendor impresses on new users - by overloading them with information until they go gong gong (ie blur) and paralysed. A paralysed member is good as long as he stays a member.

You join one of those new Content membership sites and you wud know what I mean… right bradder? :)

Yea, let me say that my original review of PF stands. It is nothing if not a quality operation. If you are so inclined it can do a lot for you. I just didn’t have the will and interest to dig that deep into it.

As a PF member I do somewhat agree with you.

A lot of the tools can be found elsewhere - sometimes for free.

However, the blog network has a huge value and it is much more sophisticated and 10x as big as the PLR Pro network.

In addition the training there is hugely valuable - even for someone who has a lot of experience.

For me many of the tools are not that useful (whereas other members find them hugely useful).

But it is the blog network and advanced training that has kept me paying each month.

    Here’s what I mean:
