I started to comment on my PortalFeeder post and decided I’d just post it up. I mention that I liked PF but I find it to be just another way of spamming the web with more content. It doesn’t have to be of course. You can create one badass portal on your favorite topic and rule the ‘net with it. But if you are building portal after portal, blog after blog, you are spamming. It just looks prettier.
If you are looking to build quality, you only have time to mind a couple sites, maybe a few. And you don’t need expensive software to do it with. Affilorama and SEO 20/20 teach you that. Even PLRPro says as much by using WP blogs.
We get so bogged down with all this fancy software and such when all you need is an idea, put it on a simple website, build upon it and get people interested in seeing it. If you have to do all these things like weird link exchanges and article directory spamming, etc. your site probably has a malfunction anyway. No one wants anything to do with it. If they did they would link to you naturally. You would build reputation naturally.
I have two sites that anyone gives a crap about. I don’t do a thing except write original thoughts. I don’t link exchange. I don’t promote. Yet people find them and bookmark them. Comment on them. Criticize them. Praise them. All my other blogs and websites I have to sweat link exchanges, article submissions, boring updates, buying new PLR content, etc. ad nauseum. There is no love there, man.
I know there are folks who have numerous PLR sites and are making $20/day for each site in Adsense. And selling Crapbank books from it. Creating these massive email lists. Keeping the circle going. I just find it uninspiring and uninteresting. It’s just another kind of spam. Can’t fault anyone for making a buck. No way. It’s just not for me. At least anymore.
I have these kind of sites. I have tons of blogs. I know what people build these days because I am building them too. They are crap. And yet I hope to make money with them. And I don’t discourage anyone else from making money with them either. And if you love creating this kind of spam, that’s cool too. But the bottom line is they are junk.
I’m not talking about those of you who have a site that you really put yourself into. If you live for Christmas calendars and have created a fabulous site on that topic, fantastic! That is not spam.
I’m just tired and frustrated with trying to maintain all this content. You keep hearing how you are supposed to sling as much shit as possible so you can find what sticks. Well, I don’t think anybody is going back through the piles to see what is still hanging off the wall. We just keep slinging. It’s what we believe is successful because we keep getting more and more content to throw around. It’s crazy.

Hey Mate, I stumbled across your site, whilst attempting to ascertain whether or not, I should buy NMOC.
Thank You, for your candour. You saved me some hardworked for money.
