My view on PLR articles is not shared by anybody else as far as I can tell. I am perfectly happy to get what I pay for. I don’t get why people think they should expect such high quality for the articles they get for joining a PLR site. You are paying anywhere from $25-70 for hundreds of articles each month. If you want high quality then you should expect to pay around $100-300 per article. Probably more. Newspapers do. OK maybe that is the extreme, but if you go to professional people to have articles written I guarantee it won’t be cheap. When you are essentially only paying a quarter for an article then you should expect mediocrity.
Moreover, I think you are kidding yourself if you think that populating a blog or website with rewritten PLR articles is going to get more than a cursory browse through before the user clicks onto something more interesting like Adsense. No site is going to be bookmark worthy until it is written in your own voice. Every site that has PLR reads like PLR. I think it’s worthwhile to take the idea from PLR and rewrite it in your own voice. But you have to inject your own personality into the thing.
I’m no hypocrite. I use PLR to populate my blogs and sites. I just don’t get bent when the quality is not so great. I prefer it to be as good as possible. But I’m rewriting the stuff anyway before posting. And yes, there is good PLR and there is bad PLR. I will attempt to get the best quality possible for my money (PLRPro anyone?). But I still contend that $50 a month for 400 articles is only going to get you so much quality.

I have no doubt your new service is going to rock. And from the sounds of it in the forum you’ll have a lot of takers. I just don’t know if I can afford the upgrade personally.

You’re dead on about the article quality – hell, the least that quality writers would charge you is 10 cents a word.
400 word articles = $40.
3 articles = more than the price of the membership.
Having said that, I’d be interested in swapping notes on where you’ve gotten so far with it.

Friend of mine writes free lance for specialty magazines. Let’s just say that she is paid a tad more than 10 cents a word.

Just don’t take any English PLR and ram it through a translator and consider it even close to sensible in any foreign language.
Well, actually, it will be a FOREIGN language so don’t assign some name like Spanish, Italian, French, etc to it. Makes me sick when someone claims to have a translator that is good.
