Mass Control Today - More of the Same

January 15th, 2008 · 20 Comments

Got an email from Joel Comm about this Mass Control Today website of Frank Kern’s. Apparently there is a video to watch and Comm “just saw it” and wanted me to know what I could learn. Groovy. I have no interest. Press delete. So I roll over to my other email account and see an email from Rob Benwell. Holy shit. It seems that Rob “just saw it” too. What a coincidence that these two marketers saw the video at the same time and sent an email to tell me what I could learn from it.

Not only that but when I noticed that when they each described what I could learn from the video, both of them had the exact same idea on what that would be. To the letter! That is an amazing coincidence wouldn’t you say? I posted them below so you can see what I mean. And no, my name ain’t bob.

Yea, these guys care so much, huh? They’ve suckered all us wannabe IM’ers into signing onto their, now massive, lists. Then the affiliate marketers and the info sellers wash each other’s back. The product needs to be sold so the the info seller/membership owner calls up the big list holders. The big list holders pimp out their list. They hope that for every 100 emails that get sent out 3 get opened and 1 gets acted on. Or something like that. Maybe the response is much higher. You know, if you have a list of 10,000 and 100 buy a product which earns the big list holders $100 for each sale, well, you’ve made a nice payday for the week or even day.

I really have no problem with this. My problem are these people who send out the emails without even looking over the product. They probably have no idea what the product does, they just know that Frank Kerns name is attached and Mr. Kerns needs distribution. Why Frank even creates his JV partners a swell email to send to his list. Haven’t these people taught us not to duplicate stuff? Welcome to the scummy world of IM.

I’ve gotten this from several people. The thing that fascinates me is $2,200,000 from 8,600 people. That’s $255 each. Wow!

It’s actually very good, I’ve got the product. But you’ll want to be already advanced at this stuff, or at least be very smart, to make use of it.

It really will cause a lot of people who are already serious at this business to take their business to new heights.

Well, I’m sure if you promoted it you would say as much, provide a review and not simply use a canned email to get people to buy it. I mean they make it seem like they really have a vested interest in the product then you see right through the shenanigans when every guberu sends out the same email verbatim. Tells me that they are simply pimping their list. I wouldn’t trust another email from them that came my way.

[…] a post over at Lost Ball in High Weeds illustrates that it’s not just the small time internet marketer who engages in this type of practice. […]

That happens to be one of my pet peeves as well — marketers just sending out a canned e-mail message — and it was the reason for my departure from about 90% of my e-mail subscriptions last year. (To include some *big names*.)

It wouldn’t even be so bad if those guys just added an introductory paragraph; at least then it would seem as though they were actually trying. But, I guess when you get that big it doesn’t really matter anymore. :)

Plus, I think they’re also playing against the clock — each marketer wants his e-mail to be the first one to land in your inbox before the other guy and writing a proper review of the product takes time. *sigh*

P.S. Congrats on the ProBlogger mention. ;)

Thanks Teli. That was definitely a surprise. Who would have thought that a dude like Darren would read this blog?

  • Teli Adlam // Jan 17, 2008 at 12:50 pm

Darren is a man of many mysteries. Of course, it didn’t surprise me too much because your blog rocks.

When I get emails like that I automatically scroll down for the unsubscribe button. Why are you still subscribing to these guys emails? Or don’t they give you an option to get out? The other reason I’ll unsubscribe is someone who contacts me every day or every other day, even once a week is pushing it, especially when each email is telling me about some great product that can really help me out. No thanks.

    Hey Splork,

Long time no speak… Funny I just wrote a post about this and other StomperNet fiascoes over at my blog.

Fantastic post Splork. I couldn’t agree more.

  • Franck Silvestre // Jan 22, 2008 at 1:27 am

    Hi splork,

I learned more than Frank Kern in two videos than anything I’ve read online.

I like your blog, don’t get me wrong, but Franck delivers man.

Mark, I’ve learned a lot from you as well.

    Franck the body guard.

  • Splork // Jan 22, 2008 at 7:56 am

Hey Franck. I have no problem with Kerns. Bashing his program or whatever wasn’t really the point. His JV’s just took the lazy way out and I decided to call them out on it.

  • Franck Silvestre // Jan 22, 2008 at 12:49 pm

I agree with you mate. Frank is really cool. I like his stuff more than any other marketer. Obviously his mass control stuff work.

As for the JV partners, I really think Frank should train them first!

    Keep it real Splork.

    Hi,

Must agree with the comment about the email template. You would think that these guys would know that everyone and his dog would be promoting this thing.

I am a big fan of Frank Kerns stuff and the videos he has released during pre launch will help a lot of guys get started.

Must also agree with the “Pimping the List” shout which is spot on.

For some people who have alittle experience we can see through that, however a lot of people will get sucked in and maybe buy something that will not work for THEM at their current level.

I also just saw a an email from Rich Schefren that is an invite to a teleseminar with Frank and they are giving two copies of Mass Control away.

Get on IT if you can…….

    Richard

Considering these two guys you mentioned are supposed to be pros, I guess Frank didn’t think he had to train them.
Actually, I know alot bout both. One is a crook. I won’t reveal which. But seriously, don’t bother dealing with either.
As for Frank. His products are always top notch.

    Hi Splork,

I just posted a review of Mass Control on my site: http://www.affilorama.com/blog/mass-control-review

Just thought people who read your post may want to read my review as well.

    All the best!

    Splork,

This whole marketing launch has been fascinating.

It’s like when I go out on brothers sportfishing boat.

Because the lesson to be learned here is the PROCESS.

And Frank Kern is a master of the marketing
    process.

    1. Release Free Content.
    Collect names.

    2. Release more free content.
JV partners get the word out.

    3. Discreetly inform market of upcoming
product that you really don’t want to
release but will for a SELECT few.

    4. Release more free content.

    Marketing crowd is ravenously gobbling
this up as everyone is just sending them
JV offers like the crap you posted above.

    5. Tell crowd about the upcoming
product but they will have to wait
    and jump through XYZ hoops.

    6. JV partners now jump on the bandwagon
as the chum is out there, the big fish are
showing up, and everyone wants to be a
    big fish like Joel Comm.

    7. Must have a customary countdown clock.

    8. A few teleseminars here are essential as
these guys are master salespeople with their
    voices.

    9. Launch day.

The feeding frenzy gobbles up the big bait
in minutes. The fishermen are pulling out
    huge fish one after another.

    10. Dinner time. Everyone goes home happy
with a big fish. The family gets fed. Ferraris
    get purchased.

    11. But Wait….

    12. There’s a seminar coming up if you missed
    out on the product…

    Rinse and repeat.

    Gary Smith
    http://www.rightbraincopy.com

ps I like to eat big fish also. Especially
yellowtail and bluefin tuna. So I’m throwing
my lure out when the feeding frenzy is
    happening nowadays.

    Much easier pickings.

  • Bob // Jan 30, 2008 at 4:00 pm

Just curious… But why do people fall for “he over delivers, his stuff is spot on”

Lets say his product delivered on even 1% of what he promised. IF even 1% of the people learned and put his steps into action earning 1% of the promise, you wouldnt be hear reading reviews about it, you’d be on the beach drinking beers and ranking it in from everything you learned from his old products…

Am I wrong? If even 1 IM product delivered it, we’d all be billionaires..

  • Jeff Mills // Jan 31, 2008 at 7:25 pm

See that’s what I love about Frank.

He teaches people to just copy and paste the SAME email, and it works.

People make money just by copying and pasting and sending to their lists.

Frank is a master at ethical pursuasion.
