What ping service are you talking about? Is it the settings -> writing -> update services in WP?

How do I know that it’s working?

Dinheiro – Was it .info or .com, pre-owned or not?

I’ve mainly had problems with .info and Blogger blogs getting indexed. I use the same 12 or so ping services that I’ve always used.

Frank, what service are you using? I’m still indexed in 2-3 days. Yesterday for instance i had on new blog indexed in just 12h

Dinheiro – I’ve had some problems getting the old “blog and ping” method to work. Eventually you get indexed but it can be up to 3-4 weeks these days. Having the WordPress.com link seems to speed things up a lot.

For quick indexing, i still prefer the old PING, it still result like a charm. Every site i make, i ping, and bamm, site indexed in a few days.

Wordpress.com “Link Luv” posts are great for getting that pesky BANS, blogger blog or other niche site indexed. Just stick your site in with a list of 5 or more related, known, authority sites and off GoogleBot will go to your site. 60% of the time it works, every time.
