July Update

by Splork on July 24, 2009

So how are things? I’ve been lazily contributing to the niche spam pages polluting the Internet. Here’s an accounting of some of my activities:

Hubpages – I’ve been building crappy little hubs with about 400-500 words and photos. Do they make money? Not typically. They do get a PageRank fairly quick though. The more I build the more money I make. Crazy I know.

Blogprofitz – I am making quite a few sales from these blogs. Mostly Amazon. Surprisingly the shit that people buy have no relation to the topic that I built my site on. I am considering how to work that. Build a blog that people want to visit and promote crap that people want to click on. Stick the cookie. Worth a few bucks a month.

Adsense – Am I the only one whose Adsense income decreases as the month drags on? Probably

Today.com – Clicks are diminishing. Income reducing. Bummer.

Outsourcing – I’ve done zip with that initiative. Not surprising is it? Effing lazy mofo. BTW – Outsourcing Method apparently freaked people out with the expense so the PLRPro boys are reconsidering the project. I still have hope that I’ll be getting a copy of the program and will be able to utilize it to get my ass in gear. I probably just need to follow some good advice given by Lis and Patrick and suck it up with Textbroker.

Screw outsourcing – I am thinking about going above that noise. I have some coin to spend. I may just buy a couple authority sites with potential. Why bother with site building, maintenance and all that crap? It’s too hard and boring to cultivate something from the start. Would you rather have an apple tree seed or a freaking apple tree that bears fruit? Worth considering, no?

Keyword Research – Sick. of. it. It’s really what is keeping me from moving forward with real sites this month. I use the formula from TKA and figure out the competition quickly using Nichebot. Couldn’t be easier but I couldn’t be any less interested.

Speaking of The Keyword Academy. Totally digging the use of the article blogs. I’ve been blasting short announcements for my Hubs. I’m guessing it’s one reason that they are doing as well as they are with PR and rankings.

And speaking of Hubpages, again. I know it’s been mentioned before, but those thinks are great for testing. I’ve plugged those things into Google Analytics to see how people get to the site. I’ve got a couple of hubs that have provided me with some choice keywords that I expect to use to build real sites with. Give the 30 top keywords to an outsource drone and let them write.

PageRank bleed of the day – Dude over at How to Make Money With SEO is slowly taking over the online reigns that Griz has apparently released. He’s killing it with Hubpages (unless his real skill is Photoshop). He’s got a lot of good thoughts and ideas. He’s also banging the table over Infobarrel. The amount of content he talks about creating on his blog is staggering. Have a read.

Stay cool.

I’ve been reading you for some time now. Griz sent me here. What I want to say is that you remind me of Charles Bukowski.

I’m also sick of those 6-post niche sites and have more and more trouble writing content and making links. Although I make $1,500 per month, it’s all crappy business.

Again, your writing is Charles Bukowski style. I’m gonna read him again tonight, because he speaks the truth.

Be good.

I bought a couple of sites (in my particular niches) recently and so far they have proved well worth buying – both for sales and for building backlinks (both PR3s which is good in my neck of the woods).

So yes, I would say go with that, but choose wisely (as I know you will).

Nice link out by the way :)

Yep, I’d definitely buy some authority type sites if I had the money. Hard to build from scratch, especially when you are totally burned out on the whole thing.

I’ve been following the blog of this British guy who has moved into buying high-priced authority sites, mostly with the co.uk domain. It’s a whole ‘nother level and one I hope to reach someday when I make enough money from cranking out crap to afford it.
