I hate IM memberships. I’ve joined a few in my time and asked for many refunds in the process. The only ones that I paid for and kept was/is PLRPro and Affilorama. I signed up for both of those in ‘06 and haven’t stayed with any other since.
Anyway, I signed up for Court and Mark’s Keyword Crash Course Keyword Crash Course. I joined the Premium membership for $33 a month. The first month is basically $1 and they give you their Keyword Crash Course videos for the privilege.
Why did I bother? To put my money where my mouth is. I’ve often said on this blog that I thought Court and Mark were a couple of the good guys. They don’t know me from your gardener, but they seem like honorable blokes. The information that they present for free is always helpful. They seem trustworthy and knowledgeable. I trust Griz as well and he often says good things about TKA. That’s good enough for me. However, even though they are good guys, it doesn’t necessarily mean they deserve my money. They said they were going to prove their worth, so I’ll let them try. And hope they succeed.
What motivated me to sign up? I would appreciate a new perspective on things. Maybe a little shove to get going again. Maybe a way of doing something that I haven’t thought of. Add a bit of curiosity and a desire to support people that deserve goodwill in return.
When I swapped over from Lunarpages to Hostgator I went through Court’s affiliate link. In doing so they sent me a couple of videos on building sites. I thought the quality and the instruction were very good. So when this was offered I figured it was about as can’t lose as it comes in this suck-ass business. Their blog presence is honorable. People I know think highly of them. And the content that I’ve had the opportunity to view has been to my liking. Properly vetted I decided to pry a dollar out of my wallet and let them earn next month’s $33.
If you are struggling trying to make a buck in this business, I recommend you give this a try. It will be a damn sight better than all the other shit that we all have bought trying to make a buck in this game. This is a good how to make money online course.
And the price is right. Also, if you sign up with PayPal you can just slide away without anyone knowing. PayPal makes it blessedly easy to quit memberships. No emails. No phone calls. Just a click of the mouse a couple of times and you’re out.
BTW- The course is geared towards Wordpress. I can tell you right now as I start building sites using their blueprint I will be utilizing XSP, or maybe even Blogger.

I signed up too, why not for $1 and you know you can cancel with paypal. Kind of annoyed though that the webinars I paid $24 for last month are going to be included for the $1 membership, at least it sounded like it, didn’t notice them in the member area yet.
PS. They do have an aff program, might want to stick your link in the post.

Yea, I was wondering about that because some folks paid like $600 for videos that I assume they are giving away for a buck…unless I’m reading that wrong too.
I’m sure they have thought it through. They must be compensating those folks in other ways.

Hmmm. I have also signed up and paid for different “helpful” things on the internet, only to be dissapointed. I think I will wait and see what you have to say about it.
I do have a question. It seems that Griz originally went from saying you should use free blogger blogs to now saying your money site should be WordPress.
I have a WordPress money blog. It works well, but I would rather not deal with the platform: upgrades and such. I started a new blog with blogger and it is so much easier (and free). Any thoughts?

Money sites should probably be self hosted.
Blogger blogs are best as feeder sites. You can monetize those but you can’t rely on them for long term growth. Too many unknowns. I use Blogger a lot but I have no illusions that the site will there tomorrow, much less a year from now. They are great for driving traffic to your main site, building franken sites and testing ideas. I make good money with affiliate programs and Adsense on quite a number of Blogger blogs. I would hate for them to be suspended or deleted, like some have, but that is the reality. It’s a risk. A risk you don’t have if you self host.
I would suggest giving TKCC a shot. You’ll only be out a dollar, will get to view some excellent videos on keyword research, linking and site building and will be able to cancel simply by logging into PayPal if it’s not to your liking before the $29/33 monthly fee rolls around.

I signed up with them. For a buck, how could I say no? And I’m happy to be able to say I was impressed. Their system is solid, their action plan is simple, for anybody wanting to get started in the biz, these are the guys to learn from.
There are a million and one things to do to optimize each of the techniques they teach you, and they encourage you to find your own way. But the foundations they have in their crash course are pretty dang good on their own. I am going to follow their plan for the next few months, adding a few techniques in my own arsenal, and I expect to see some great results.

They use one keyword step that baffles me as to the waste of time though. They use a Firefox extension to figure out the PR of the keyword competitors in the Google search. Video 2 if you’re keeping score. I use one of the tools in Nichebot for that. Much quicker than all the clicking SEO for Firefox requires.
Online Privateer // Apr 9, 2009 at 2:52 pm
Yea, I don’t use Nichebot, but I know I should. I have a mac, so I’ve been considering Market Samurai or whatever it’s called.
The SEObook keyword tool rocks, I’ve been using it for a long time. Its free, and you can set it to automatically display the PR and links of the sites in G. Just run the search, and watch the results appear, no clicking required.

The KCC is about building niche adsense sites and I’ve never dabbled in adsense so I just signed up as well and taking this Easter break to check out the training.
Splork, Mark Ling is re-launching Affiloblueprint 2.0. I know you were using the blueprint last year to building niche sites. How has your progress been since then?
Splork // Apr 10, 2009 at 11:04 am
AB is a good course. I’m looking forward to version 2. I combined PLRPro and AB when building some sites. Marc at PLRPro and Mark at AB actually encouraged that. It makes a ton of sense. Like most niche sites, some suck. Some don’t.
Interestingly I am going to have go back and revisit some of those sites after having gone through the The Keyword Crash Course. I need to tighten them up as far as the keywords go and go ahead do what they suggest for link building.

I signed up for it and it’s certainly worth a more than a dollar. It’s a good step by step, do this on day x, then that on day y kind of thing. It’s kind of what I’d finally figured out on my own so I’m still in the beginning stages, but If you read Grizz’s site you can get similar info, but you’ve got to read much more. I like that they have a transcript of the videos. It takes me 5 minutes to read the text instead of 45 for watching the video. Even if you’re not building a niche site the SEO info is good for anything.

You know Splork I think most of us that have been in the game for a while already know what we have to do but it’s still a good idea to be involved in a community of other internet marketers to stay up to date on things and for support.
Myself I’m signed up with Vic at The Affiliate Academy and it’s a good group of people over there. I know Vic fell out of favor with you and it’s funny because we always talk shit to Vic about breaking BANS…
Good luck with Court. He seems to have a knack for teaching and I like the way he writes… very easy to understand what he’s trying to say.
Frank Carr // Apr 16, 2009 at 8:13 am
I swung by today hoping that you would have a review of Slumdog eMillionaire, the latest JV Clickbank affiliate flog-fest.
Keyword Crash Course seems to be good basic info. I kind of blend some of Court’s stuff with Vic and Griz’s stuff for what I do.
Splork // Apr 16, 2009 at 2:55 pm
Hey Frank. Just been real busy but thanks for dropping by. I saw the emails hit my spam box but haven’t have time to say much about it. I am totally consumed with training for a ride I’ve got in a couple of weeks, the girls softball and doing a lot more stock trading lately, and to be honest it’s really tough to chase online riches with all the bullshit involved when you can simply trade a few low priced financial stocks day in and day out and pocket hundreds within minutes. Things have been breaking out left and right the last month. It’s almost better than the late 90’s.
I like Court’s course. Though I’m not certain I’ll stick around for a webinar each month. His free keyword report and his postings along with Griz is about all you need to know to make money in this racket. Nothing changes. Keyword research and get links. There is only so many ways you can teach that.

I guess PLRPro has become Project Green Button?
$147 a month?
Splork // Apr 21, 2009 at 8:08 am
Yea they are putting a lot of effort into PGB. It’s not a bad tool though I still prefer to use XSP. It has some other nice features like bookmarking, but I use BMD for that…and RSS submissions.

Hey, new to the site and I like what I see. I originally came here from your Lunarpages Suckage post (I currently host there but have had little problems) but then saw this post of which I was thinking about signed up for the other day. You have probably pushed me over and will look into this in earnest this weekend and next week. GL going forward!

Take a read on the comments for “I Bought Blog Comment Demon”. I am waffling a bit about the course.
Dave Parizek // Jun 12, 2009 at 1:38 am
Care to share your strategy on trading the low priced financial stocks?
Even if not, thanks for a very great blog, found you thru Grizzly and learning a lot here too!
Splork // Jun 12, 2009 at 7:50 am
The last month or so you really haven’t need a strategy. The market has gone straight up since March. The easy money has been made it seems. I try to keep things real simple and not get caught up in all the MACD, RSI, double top eagle wing spread top formation crapola. I look at trend lines, support and resistance and take a chance. Now that we are churning it’s a lot harder. If I don’t have a clear trend to follow I don’t play. And when it breaks the trend I go away.
