I Can’t Recommend This Squidoo Ebook

April 1st, 2008 · 9 Comments

I bought “Squidoo Queen – Squidoo Meets Bum Marketing” ebook. I can’t say I care very much for it. It was recommended at Blogger Unleashed so I thought I’d give it a go. I had hoped to gain a little more insight about choosing niches, keywords, techniques for setting lens up for affiliate progrmas, etc., but it wasn’t to be.

It was the same old internet marketing ebook stuff. Build a list. {fluff} Create good content. {fluff} Keep it fresh. {fluff} Target your keywords. {fluff} Find something that solves a problem. {fluff} Pay special attention to your URL and title. {fluff} Make sure you sign up at Wealthy Affiliate with my link to learn PPC. Blah, blah, blah.

I should have known. I’ve been using Squidoo lens for awhile now, but I am always hopeful that there is something new to learn. There isn’t. I guess there is nothing to it but choose a good keyword, focus your lens on the niche/product, pick a good title/URL, write good content and promote the shit out of it.

Here is a good Squidoo lens that has all the resources you need to learn about building and promoting your lens. Even if you don’t know Squidoo from doodoo just go to that lens and start reading. Follow a few links. Everything you need to know is there for free. Save your money.

Thanks for the info. It’s about what I suspected, no great secrets at all coupled with affiliate links. I guess it might be helpful to true noobs

It seems that you just follow the same pattern for Squidoo that you do for a niche blog.

That’s the “Big Secret” to IM that most people don’t seem to grasp before they throw in the towel: there is no “Big Secret.” It boils down to two main things.

Hard work and a quote by someone I can’t remember. “The secret to success in business is to know something that no one else knows.” That’s pretty simple. Learn the basics (“nothing to it but choose a good keyword, focus your lens on the niche/product, pick a good title/URL, write good content and promote the shit out of it”), then find something no one else knows about; good niches, and keep it to yourself.

Vinny, you’re absolutely right. It took me awhile to realize there were no secrets, but it finally sunk in.

Glad I found this review. I had been eyeing Squidoo Queen e-book at Dealdotcom today for $12, but after reading your comments about it, I’m glad I didn’t. Thanks for saving me the moolah!
