I don’t feel like doing a lot writing at the moment so I’ll make this brief. You need to go to Zemanta.com, download the tool and play around with it. It’s a plug-in for Firefox and Internet Explorer that makes blogging faster and more fun. So what does it do?
You will find the tool on the right side of your blog post window. As you are typing a post it will start updating itself with photos and links that relate to what you are typing. You simply click the photo or text you want to insert and viola, there you go. Additionally as you type it is building your tag list for you to insert into your blog post.
It allows you to reblog your post as well. So what that means is if someone is using the service and comes up on your blog and wants to use it all they have to do is hit your reblog button (see below right?) and a snippet of your post will be posted in their post. You can use snippets in your blog as well. Lots of link sharing going on, if you understand what I’m trying to say here.
There are preference settings that you can set up like using your own Flickr images or using your Amazon ID so the system can suggest Amazon affiliate links. All in all very freakin’ cool and a nice way to get extra and easy to add content on your blog.
Below is a screenshot I did of this post as I was typing. Zemanta is on the right. Notice the image suggestions. Note the link suggestions of relevant articles. Note the tag suggestions. Note the links it built that can be added to the text. Like I mentioned it will also link out to Amazon Products.
Oh, and it’s free. For now anyway. Enjoy. I am.

Sounds interesting, but just wondering where it’s pulling the images and text from? Are there not copyright issues here?

Okay, I should’ve checked the site first. Zemanta’s FAQ provides the answer: “All content that we are recommending is copyright cleared - either clearly licenced as Creative Commons or approved by stock providers.” Couldn’t be much clearer than that.
