Holy crap!
“Discover the Fast, Easy, Fool-Proof Way to Generate Huge Cash Profits on Autopilot (& Even While You Sleep) Using Google AdSense Templates!”
You mean all I need are templates to make tons of money, even while I sleep? Man, I’ll never get out of bed! Fasy AND easy? I’m lazy. I can work with that.
sigh
I am sure everyone has got the advance warning, pre-sales and newsletter updates for a couple of Adsense template packages that are or have come out. You have your membership with Cody Moya and you’ve got the template package from Joel Comm.
I bought the Instant Adsense Templates Vol. 1 from Joel Comm. They were crap. I’ve seen some of the templates from Moya’s pack. Those look like crap too. I am not falling for Vol. 2 from Comm. I’m not going for the “bigger and better” and more this and more that. Sorry, my money will be staying put.
When you read the sales info it really does seem like alot of value. Tons and tons of templates. But seriously, how many do you need? If you are a spammer, isn’t it more efficient to use Blogger or WP with an auto-update tool to try to keep it fresh?
I know, I know. People will buy these. They’ll make tons of money. But when you do a search, don’t you hate to click into one of these sites? Yes, I realize that’s the point. Click out quickly via Adsense. ca-ching, another nickel.
But when you and every other Internet Marketer want good information, don’t you search for *authority sites*? Isn’t that what we should be building for the new web 2.0? I suppose you could throw some value add into these templates, but if you are going to take the time to build a site you’re proud of, won’t you put your own personality into your template as well.
I believe that you should be listening to the guys who are trying to transform the web into something useful. Not the same old, same old. There are marketers who get that quality is what will ultimately be rewarded. Yep, Charles Heflin and Mark Ling come to my feeble mind.
The Master Plan teaches you to build one or two quality sites. The reasoning is, it may take more time, planning and hard work, but the rewards will be far greater. Who among you would not rather have 5 sites, each cranking out $50-100 a day over 1000 throwaway Adsense sites, that you constantly have to keep building and rebuilding? I doubt many hands are raised.
A Master Plan or Affilorama 90-day site is freaking hard to make. It takes work. No templates need apply. Cut corners and it will show. People are so lazy. I’m lazy. We want it easy AND fast. And there are so many marketers ready to provide you with just what you need.
You know what? I bet Moya and Comm worked their asses off to bring these packages to market. And I bet they make a ton of money off them too. Yet I bet those that purchase them do very little work other than pushing the FTP transfer button and then wonder why they aren’t making any money. Do you see the disconnect there?
As I was submitting my Health and Fitness site to the directories I noticed that some were saying that they would not even review a site that had Adsense above the fold. I think a backlash has slowly and steadily begun over these crap Adsense sites. Don’t send a reciprocal link request to me for one of these sites. Who the heck wants to link to garbage like that?
You might do well to begin working on a new plan. At least prepare for the day when search engines are smart enough to get quality. These templates aren’t promoting quality.
I humbly suggest you save your money.

Agreed.
I also (stupidly) bought Joel Comm’s Templates (I bought the upsell, so I got a double scoop of garbage).
Actually, the ONE thing I learned from the templates was how to sign up for a better webhost than GoDaddy. Also, I have all those nifty graphics and headers now to clog up my computer.
Now, they are hocking us to buy Cody Moya’s templates. I never even *heard* of Cody Moya before this… and I consider myself to be “plugged in” to this IM thing.
Yesterday, I get an email from Anik at Affiliate Classroom who has his own program for autoresponder templates… actually, these are 52 autoresponder messages for your list. This is for the lasiest of the lazy who won’t even write an autoresponder email!
You’d figure that if they are *that* lazy, would they even have a list to sent to?!?
[Hold on… I need to take a breath….. there. Okay.]
I think you hit it on the head, Splork (that couldn’t be your *real* name, right?), when you say that people are so lazy. The Internet marketers *know* that and they are playing to it.
Can’t blame them a bit. But, I’ve unsubscribed to 3 newsletters this morning.
The lazy IM’s will buy the garbage and still do nothing.
So, for me? I am educating myself with Affilorama and TMP. I have my PLR articles and affiliates lined up. I’m ready for action.
BTW, the site attached to my name above is doing okay AdSense-wise, and it has over 300 pages on it and counting. It’s a fun, quality site. Visit and learn a magic trick or two!

Cool magic site. So how does Criss Angel do all his stuff?
Yea, I’ve been mostly rewriting lately.

He does it very well, I must say!

Hi Splork! Do you see a market for quality templates?
Splork // Sep 10, 2006 at 3:15 pm
That’s a tough question to answer. I think there is a market for quality templates if the site you are building is going for quality. If you are targeting Adsense you are building quick and cheap sites and I’m not sure anyone cares much how they look. They want someone to click in and click the hell out via Adsense.
I’m speaking in general terms of course. The thing is I believe if you are building a site you really care about you aren’t really thinking about Adsense. Personaly I’m thinking Affiliate programs.
This is getting off topic, but I’m trying to get away from Adsense. At least from those sites that I can. Meaning, yes I am still churning out these stupid Adsense sites on topics that mean nothing to me. But at the same time I am trying to build quality sites to target Affiliate programs. They pay so much better. Adsense would be a bonus in my world. Affiliate program sites are much harder to build for because you want them to be something decent. So you care about a quality template. In that respect quality templats would be nice to have.
Sheesh. Hope that makes sense.

Funny I stumbled across you today, I saw this and thought you all would want to know about http://www.authoritysitepro.com talk about some SERIOUS quality websites and templates for doing MORE than just your average “adsense” spammy looking websites. I know that membership for this site is opening up in November and that hude raves are already coming in on some of the templates that have been put out there. I know they are working on having demos and template examples on their site for everyone to preview before jumping on board, which is always great so that you can be sure you aren’t getting a “double scoop of garbage”! Plus they are offering a 30day money back so that’s some extra security.
Anyway, this just seems like the direction serious internet marketers are heading and it really seems like a great way to do less work for higher quality pages to be proud of, your vistors respect and in return your adsense does become just something extra.
I hope this can help a little!
