Surprise. I have nothing bad to say about Affiliate Elite. I’ve seen the videos, I see what it can do and it’s impressive. No doubt. Heck, I’d even go so far to say that all of Brad Callen’s products are worthwhile and good buys.
Here’s the thing. Ask yourself if you need this today. It’s not like it won’t be for sell two months, six months, or a year from now. Maybe it will be 50 more dollars. Maybe you won’t get all those bonuses that the gurus are throwing at you making feel compelled to buy today. So what? You won’t read/use them anyway. And if you determine later on that you need the product to do better at PPC then what’s an extra $50-100? Not much in the grand scheme.
PPC is a brutal game. This product, and others like it, do help. But just because you push the start button with this product does not mean that it will make you rich tomorrow. If you’ve never had an interest in PPC until you read all the spam that came in your inbox announcing AE, then you probably aren’t ready.
The product is going to be good. Just don’t rush out to buy it thinking it will make you rich. Don’t buy it for all those bonuses. Buy it because you need it to be better at PPC.
Will I be a buyer? Yes. No. I changed my mind. Not because the product sucked, but because I don’t need it and I do not want any recurring monthly payments right now.

Hey Splork,
Thanks for the straight dope on AE. I’m looking for a keyword generation tool to help with my first Affiliate Marketing campaign. I actually already started a website (I didn’t know what a landing page was, so I built a full-fledged content website and added a review page to it), and I have an Adwords campaign running. One of the affiliates has a pretty good conversion rate — about 1 in 5 who click on it sign up — and I want to take a shot and buying more traffic for that review page.
Would AE help me generate keywords for this PPC campaign? Or does it have a different purpose?
Thanks!

Good!
Then by all means, let us know how it works for you. I have his Keyword and SEO Elite but find I rarely use them.
I absolutely refuse to buy anything else until I start making more money!

AE is not really a keyword generation tool per se. You would be better off using something like Keyword Elite or nichebot or doing your own discovery with Wordtracker. But then again it will tell you what keywords other affiliates are using. So it will gather keywords that other people are using. It is. And it isn’t. Hope that makes sense.

Good thinking GiGi. Know what? I’ve decided to follow that advice as well. I said I would be a buyer but have decided not to buy it. I didn’t realize until later that there was a monthly cost. Plus I’ve got a tool that works reasonably well that does similar things called AdSpyPro. I simply do not need this at this point. It will be there when I need it. Until then I’ll use and make do with what I have.

I guess it’s the IN thing right now to have a recurring business model. Most of the gurus are using that model now.
I’m using AdSpyPro too so I don’t think I’ll need another tool like it.
Q. What is Internet Marketing?
A. The Art of Selling “How to make money online?” materials that will make you money online to teach others “How to make money online?”
Weird.

I’m not buying it either. I don’t need to.
I have SEO Elite… and while it’s a great tool, I too rarely use that either.
Seems like many are this crazy hype at the moment about spying on your competitors. … seeing what keywords they use, what adcopy they use, etc.
And everybody is missing the boat IMO. Does Affiliate Elite tell you what keywords are converting for you? And does it tell you exactly where they converted from? What *exact* search term? And from which *domain* it converted from? For organic AND paid?
No.
Who cares about spying? Know what works for YOUR sites …because chances are there are many more factors that determine the sale than just ‘keywords’.

Thanks for the explanation, Splork. It does make sense, yes. I went ahead and purchased nichebot. I’ve wasted way to much time researching and reviewing keyword gen tools and I kept seeing nichebot mentioned.
Plus, based on a earlier blog post of yours, I went and downloaded Micheal Campbell’s ebooks for free — one ebook is enough! — and his “Action Plan” walk-through uses nichebot.
Thanks

Update on nichebot: this is the worst piece of s**t software *ever* built. Do not buy this garbage.
Splork // Dec 12, 2007 at 6:05 pm
I appreciate your opinion Ro so your comment gets posted. However, I will defend nichebot vigorously by saying it is the best keyword tool I have used. The most comprehensive I’ve used. It is not simply software. You don’t buy nichebot. You subscribe to nichebot and utilize the sotware via your browser. The worst software *ever* built? That is ridiculous.
