For the last 6 months or so I have attempted to regale you with my worldly views during the few times I poke my head out of the weeds. It has been a tiresome exercise and mostly a complete failure. This train wreck was my ambition to collapse two blogs into one and turn a relatively successful make money online blog into something more general because I was sick of hearing myself wax poetic SEO prose.
Lost Ball suffered greatly. 5 of my 11 readers split as far as I can tell. Writers are egotistical. I figured if readers liked me greasing the keys with well placed words on building websites then surely they would love to know my view on more cerebral topics. My ego swelled and deflated in a matter of 6 months. So be it.
My other website, that started out as a rant against the imperial federal government machine, was ignored like cartoons in a whorehouse. Funny thing was it got more traffic sitting idle than this piece of shit did with weekly updates. I hadn’t looked at the stats in months. Nor did I look at the comments. I had awesome leftist comments detailing my retardation. I had folks in conservative networks wishing to add me to their readership and requests for articles. Ignoring that site was moronic.
Therefore:
as of today I will return Lost Ball back into the sewage from whence it came. Perhaps I will be motivated to discuss my efforts at making money online. It’s still as unproductive and ugly as you remember. If nothing else I suppose I will have the inclination to “review” the gross affiliate marketing “products” floating in my web sewer.
Looking around it sure feels lonely as most MMO folks have ceased their online journey. Guess they are boogieing offline to the sounds of Amway or some shit. However, I have unhitched my raft, lit my lantern, covered myself with my cloak and with a twirl of my wind blown mustache have eased back into the mist shrouded web sewer with renewed vigor.
You will note that all survival, government, political bullshit posts have been removed from this blog. I have collected all the comments and posts and other excrement and plan to drop them on a suitable Blogger blog at some point. I’ll update this post if I ever get around to it.
One thing that will change on this pile of excrement is that eventually, assuming anyone bothers visiting, I will place advertisements into the white space in the hopes of capturing the clicks of search engine first time visitors. Long time fuckers will necessarily dismiss the monetization efforts. Hopefully my hypocrisy will not stray too far between my loathing of affiliate marketing products and my desire to stack crisp federal notes.
Apologies for the bullshit.

Welcome back Griz
Hi Splork,
Funnily enough I started meandering upstream from my web sewer into the real time scenario about the same time as you and found your blog posts interesting.
I will subscribe to both blogs now. I have recently returned to the web sewers with renewed vigour because everything else is too god damned surreal.
I live in Ireland and the financial/political corruption is just as bad over here BUT the sleeping masses are starting to wake up.
@KC – hiya chuckles
@Alan -I hope they are waking up. Hell get that place straightened out and I may just return back to the home of some of my ancestors.
I hope I can manage both. I recall trying to create missives for both sites became the reason for condensing the efforts, yet ultimately my downfall.
Splork,
I found this guy who is a VERY TALENTED writer but when you look at his many websites closely, he is obviously an Internet marketer. He writes about all the stuff you want to write about: the world is ending kind of stuff.
I have poked around and found over 50 of his websites and I think he might be doing quite well based on the traffic he is getting. You are a good writer but this guy puts in the time and every article is a big one from him with tons of links out.
Its worth checking out because his blogs are what you want Lipskip.com to be. Here are two of his biggest. Tell me what you think.

I enjoyed the mix. The science fiction great Robert Heinlein said that editorializing was the priviledge you earn from also writing something that was entertaining. Only after he died was it revealed that his first writing effort was purely utopian, packed with ideas but barely passing as fiction. After he failed to get it published, he inserted bits and pieces of the ideas therein into a much larger body of fiction written over the course of decades.
Found your site when I was looking up fatcat blueprint. I think that people are too damn bitchy. If you like a site and the person running it wants to talk about something else then comment on that! Everyone has an opinion on everything so why just up and leave?
@Seth – yea, Michael’s an attorney. One of the best financial blogger types writing today. If only I was as talented as he is. He certainly has a knack for pulling in incredible relevant and amounts of data. The best I can do is link to his brilliance from time to time.
@Carl – I battled with the decision. It made my head hurt to not have the information separate though. OCD or something.
@Scuba – thanks for visiting. I don’t mind people coming and going. It’s the nature of this mess. People’s interest vacillate and while they may be interested in your pile for a month or two, they’ll end up finding something shinier to play with at some point.
FCB is still the best Adsense type plan I have come across. That said, Adsense is a pain. I have almost eliminated it from my efforts.
Splork,
Do you have any idea what kind of tools Michael might use to find all the articles he links out too? Some feed service or something (I’m really showing my ignorance here).
I’m starting to link out to authority sites more and more because I think that Google views that as good. However, I need a way to find relevant material in my niches first.
@Seth – If it was me I’d use Google alerts to start with. Assuming I had a topic that I was interested in writing I would set up alerts for a week or so to get ideas. Given he is rather narrow in his topic (social economic concerns) he probably has 20,30 or so websites he reads daily to use as references.
I’m not sure what tools he would/could use. I have a feeling it is a lot of grunt work.
following the 20, 30 websites using google reader and their rss feed on daily basis, getting ideas from there and sit down to write, i think that is the secret behind these talented writers. do you agree with me splork?
Welcome back splork!
I havent stopped by in a quite a while, but i figured id stop in since im taking a quick break.
I could have told u to quit the adsense crap years ago-ive never made more than 60 or 70 bucks in a single month with that…& ive been in this biz for over 3 years, 1.5 years full time.
My business strategy has changed about 16.5 times over the last 6 months…but i can tell u this, its looking better & better every day, let all the others wonder off into the shithole of life (a 9 to 5 job), making room for ppl like us to grab those low hanging coins.
Cheers!
Splork you need a contact email on this website! might send some q’s down your way in hopes of getting some sewage cruise guidance.

Hi Splork,
I enjoy your ramblings.
You know I went over to the warrior forum the other day. There’s nothing but tumbleweed on there to be honest. I think the buzz has gone out of IM. I left TKA as they didn’t seem to have any new ideas. Now all I do is keep my head down and write endlessly about my favorite subjects using keywords that Keyword Strategy tells me that people should be interested in.
It’s good news for those of us to stay the course I suppose. I guess last year’s Panda updates ripped the faces off of 95% of the wannabe crowd, and now the US economy seems to be showing signs of life, maybe they’re getting real jobs instead of whoring for cents though AdSense, Clickbank and other ad programs.
@Brett – every so often I find myself trolling about in the Warrior Forum. I like to see what crap they have come up with in WSO’s in particular.
Seems most WSO’s are priced below $10. Garbage ebooks with the intent of luring one into the membership forum to get you to spend money on so-called “upgrades”. I recently took a few dollars and threw them into the sewage for an Amazon ebook to observe the affiliate dance. Nothing has changed. The information, no matter how pretty, is the same. Plenty of upsells as you slither your way into the shit pile.
Creating your own product is a fine thing. Hype it to the stratosphere and get other super affiliate monkeys to spread it to their email list and you’ll make a ton no matter how useless the information is.
I despise, absolutely loath, (99% of) IM products. Which also explains why this fucking blog makes no money.
